    CAN's Mission is:

    1) Educating and informing the community about matters that concern Asheville's neighborhoods;
    2) Providing a means for Asheville's neighborhood organizations and groups to share information;
    3) Providing technical assistance to neighborhood groups and individuals that are interested in participating in community affairs.

    Attend CAN's Meetings: Are you concerned about Asheville? Would you like to see CAN, the Coalition of Asheville Neighborhoods, play a role in shaping our city and county? CAN needs to hear from each neighborhood. Find out how to become your neighborhood representative or just come and join us for an exciting evening of community.

    2nd Monday each month, 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Oakley Community Center, 749 Fairview Rd., behind the Fire Station and below the Library. Open to the public. Bring your issues, ideas, and energy.

    Join the CAN email list: write to admin@AshevilleCAN.org and request to join the email listserv.  After joining, simply write to list@AshevilleCAN.org with your questions, ideas, concerns, etc. and your email will be sent to all members of the list serv.

    CAN's Vision and 5 Year Plan:  On May 23-24 of 2008, a dozen members of CAN came together during a 12 hour retreat to create an exciting Vision and 5 Year Plan. Please check out the following links and join us in making Asheville a "We City" of active, organized neighborhoods.

    • What Do We Want to See in Place for CAN in 2013? (Vision)
    • What are the possible practical and innovative actions that we could take to move us toward our vision in the context of our current reality? (Actions)
    • Determine initiatives achievable over the next 12 months (1 Year Timeline)
    • Which Timeline items have priority and flow into other items (Priority Wedge)
